(Spoiler warning just in case) I liked the movie. Very artsy and imaginative, and full of allegories that are easy to unpack.

To me it was about the suffocating reality of suburban living. They're raising a child that behaves in a way that's completely foreign to them (because they're in a different generation), burying themselves in their work to escape, and losing their love of life as they get older (no taste, they don't understand what's on TV). Like their whole lives get consumed by a child that's part of a lifestyle neither of them were ready for. They wanted a home, and they got something completely alien to them, inside a maze of inescapable mundaneness. It's like a dark psychedelic take on the American dream.

Anybody else watch it? I want thoughts.

This has quickly turned into my favorite art site to post on. It doesn't get the same attention that DA or twitter gets, but that's kind of a good thing. It's not stressful to post on Newgrounds because I'm not thinking about which rules I might be breaking or who's sensitivities I'm treading on. This site just feels good to participate in.

I feel like the art and projects people make on this site are more honest and real than anywhere else on the internet. People aren't afraid to go nuts here, and its making me want to go nuts more often.

I never tried pixel art before, and it was really fun to give it a go! It's so different than what I'm used to, I got no idea how people animate pixel sprites O.o

I'm trying to find balance again with drawing this year, and I think its work for the most part. It's difficult managing a full time job, classes, and keeping up with art, so that's part of the reason I've slowed down slightly from December. I'm working on efficiency in drawing this year, so if anyone has any good videos on how to draw faster, or what to practice that cuts time, I am all ears :)

I'm just uploading finished art here, so there's going to be some breadth between posts (probably about a week or two in between). I'm not great at consistency, but I'm working at it! Hello! I'm Kilcra and I mostly draw monsters and gay aliens. I rarely make adult content, so I'm pretty safe for office browsing ;)

I haven't explored Newgrounds before, so I'm having a look around at what this community does and getting a vibe for the place. I followed a bunch of artists from here for years on youtube, twitter and soundcloud, so I thought I'd finally check it out.

For the next few days I'll post twice a day to get some gallery highlights in here from the past few months. After I put up that stuff here, I can usually maintain posting twice a week. So look forward to some fairly recent work from me!
